I began a challenge a week and half ago. It is a mental detox.
there are ten parts to the challenge.
This challenge is about being in control of the external and internal
mental saturation of stimuli you receive on a daily basis. 'They' say
it takes 30 days to break a habit or make one. So we take thirty days
to detox our mind's and create a new 'space' for clear thinking.
1. No TV or Movies for a month. (which is fine I hardly watch mind
numbing TV. But instead of NO TV, I chose instead to only watch
educational, intelligent, uplifting programing and movies and to limit
the amount of time I spend infront of any 'box' including the comp).
2. No Radio. Only uplifting music that moves your soul to be free.
( no rap, no hard core heavy metal or cry in your beer songs. It MUST
be high frequency heart opening music. )
3. No newspapers.
4. Pick a day in the thirty days to be completely silent for 24 hours.
5. Meditate for thirty minutes every day for thirty days.
6. Think about who you are, contemplate your life for 20 mins a day for thirty days.
7. Drink Plenty of Water. You have to stay hydrated during any detox. This will also get you into the habit
of being a habitual water drinker. A REALLY good thing :)
8. Do something that you fear once a day for thirty days. ( now I
don't mean fighting tigers or something like that. It has to be more
base than that.)
9. Do a random act of kindness every day for thirty days.
10. Exercise for thirty minutes a day for thirty days.
97% of the people who have taken this challenge have not been able to
complete it the first time around. But don't let that stop you from
tying !!!!! Even if you don't complete it, you can always do it
again and the process is mind blowing and life changing !
I am at day 10. I have only watched intelligent uplifting TV. I
have watched one movie which was very artistic and creative and got my
creativity going. I have a documentary sitting next to my bed which
is begging my attention. It is a Spiritual subject based Documentary.
I am drinking 10 glasses of water a day. I had a hug fest day, I am
doing one thing a day that I either used to be fearful of or I still
am. I am doing one act of random kindness a day.
I feel fabulous. I have not had a 'bad' day for ten days.
Each day I think more about myself-introspection, it causes me to see others more clearly.
If you want to take a life changing ride that cost you nothing.
Try this mental detox. See if you don't find yourself changing and as you change you just might notice your world changing.
