Despite the long-term (of many generations - hundreds, thousands...?) of misuse (disrespect, abuse, torture) and misplacement (unnatural-hostile to human biology environment) of our body, I trust that completed self-healing (full restoration of perfect vibrant balanced state of health of body-mind) within our (one) lifetime IS possible, IF proper naturalhygienic thinking and acting (living, sustaining) is taking place. 
Our body, as an intelligent living organism, self-heals itself always instinctively according to it's inner built function and purpose of self-preservation and -evolution. 
Proper naturalhygienic thinking and acting means that we accept that truth is true and allow (not block/suppress) our self-healing to take it's place and course at needed depth and intensity as required and applied by our organism in it's natural strive to restore it's perfectly balanced state as intended and preprogrammed by nature. 
Which means that we understand, accept and allow our natural inner present divine intuition and natural body instincts and senses to determine and guide us to our choice-decision in what we think or say or do. 
Which means that we drink, eat and rest according to our body's natural inner voice and signals - instincts and senses via which body always  communicating to us about it's actual needs and requirements. 
In my experience, the allowing of enough (very much) deep rest, with fasting as a natural part of self-healing, in order to allow the use of required amount of energy for the purpose of required self-healing, is the most important and primary way of natural hygienic living - thinking and acting. 
Coupled with moderate instinctive feasting (based on and determined by true hunger/thirst) and instinctive natural (not enforced) "exercising", and deep breath of clean fresh air, plenty of sunlight, and practice of natural instinctive meditation yoga, and mind-training/watching - are in my experience perfect tools and steppingstones to serve and support completion of self-healing (and self-awakening to the awareness and experience of natural perfect vibrant being as intended (now...;-)) 
Also, natural hygiene teaches us to understand the value and necessity of developing "disease" "symptoms" as a mean of natural intelligent function of self-preservation and -survival of a living organism to self-manage and self-resolve the effects of (accidence), enforced misuse and misplacement. 
Understanding of body's use of disease (symptoms) will help us to serve our self-healing better - deeper and further. All effects (symptoms) are there (intelligently developed and used) with a very good (intelligent) reason. 
Remove the cause (misuse/misplacement) and allow the symptoms to self-resolve naturally by their own momentum force...

...I am so very truly thankful and grateful for my body's ability to always self-heal in it's strive to recover back to it's natural perfect vibrant state of health as nature intend and can. The sensation of uneasiness and pain witnesses, proofs and ensures me that my body is still vital and able enough and doing it's very best in its strive to intelligently self-heal to resolve and undo the effects from earlier mistakes - misuse and misplacement - it has been enforced by while still so well withstanding all that. The more uneasiness and pain I feel the more intense, deep and effective is the ongoing symptom resolution and self-healing of my body and all it's parts, so I thankfully welcome and completely accept, allow and surrender to my body's intelligent efforts of self-healing to recovery, and the uneasiness and pain I experience now are witnesses to that I am actually really self-healing and resolving problems right here now. I appreciate and love my body so much and so deeply for it's vitality, sensitivity, vibrancy, endurance, intelligence, intuition, instincts, senses and persistant ability to self-heal in its strive to resolve problems and restore it's perfect health, despite all the misuse and disrespect for so long, so I now stop the cause - misusing and disrespecting it - and instead withdraw and retire from enforcing, obstructing and blocking it's functions and it's way of correcting and undoing all the ill effects from earlier mistakes, up to the very completion of it's self-healing and full restoration to perfect vibrant state as intended. ACIM helps to retrace back to the underlying error on a root level of thought forms to remove the blockages to the awareness of... Experiencing being completely present in the now "collapses" time and space as projection-perception-experience. Each instant of being completely present in the now heals, and the more of such instances are experienced the deeper is the healing. There is a natural pull within towards healing and restoration of oneness, which causes to instinctively-spontaneously to experience the now state, - the state of "empty" mind, free of and beyond any identification and attachment to any thought form.

I do OM while bodily still or moving, to open up and switch over in to the portal to now presence and divine love (awareness), to detach and disidentify from obstructing mental noise and false beliefs thought forms. OM is very effective to heal and awaken, to detoxify, energize and unblock the natural flow, to rebalance the whole body-mind.

The idea of "fasting" (healing) is to avoid all enervation as much as possible, and by that allow our organism to heal and undo all imbalances and errors in a most complete and efficient way. 
Any forcing and overriding of our body's intelligent voice and its natural instincts and senses is always counter-productive and only suppresses, obstructs and delays the completion of healing and restoration of the balanced state (of perfect vibrant health).
Drink only IF you feel truly thirsty, eat only IF you feel truly hungry, always by following your body's inner present intelligence and intuition, instincts and senses. 
True thirts/hunger always return and are clearly communicated by body's senses and signals when body is ready and willing.
To heal allow the body to deeply and completely rest and relax undisturbed in stillness of body and mind eyes closed maintaining naturally deep breathing of clean fresh air. 
Deeply feel (sink into) the body and all its parts (inner organs), especially feel deeply all its pain/uneasiness spots. 
Go deeply into the feeling of pain or discomfort with all your being and presence (of mind/spirit) until the pain or discomfort resolves and dissolves naturally by itself, it's own divine force of resolution.
Our body is the most intelligent and naturally able to self heal and resolve and undo errors-imbalances always.
Our body is always self-healing by it's nature and inner present intelligence.
Only allow it to happen.

...the "body" is a portal to the now-presence awareness state, the "out-of" mind state. 
All body related questions are best answered by body's own inner intelligence and intuition - instincts and senses - in order to choose right. 
Body itself is actually the best tool to heal itself (and mind). 
When I feel trapped in a flow of thoughts (mental noise) I turn to my body as a portal in to the now (presence). 
Using "OM" sound to "switch off" in to the silence (of mind) mode is very effective. 
Answer and solution to seeming problem comes easy, effortlessly and naturally, in to a "clear"/"empty" mind. Just (always) trust the feeling of your gut...;-)

...the state of "no-mind" or "empty" mind, or the state of detachement and dis-identification from all thought-forms of/within the mind is what serves the healing of our "body" (and specially the mind itself). 
In this sense it is not about controling, overriding and forcing of our body by the mind, instead it is about releasing and freeing of our body from (the imbalanced) mind. 
Which does that the body is allowed to naturally heal back to it's naturally balanced state. 
As well body's natural instincts and senses - the inner intelligence/voice - as a result from the no-mind state - is heard more clear and loud to help us to avoid doing/repeating (compulsive/in-learned) errors over and over again and instead choosing right. 
The more we are in the state of "no-mind", the more we are present in the now, the more our body comes to it's natural expression/being/function and the more we heal and the easier it is to preserve the perfect balanced (healed) state (of vibrant health) (of mind/body). 
"Mind-over-matter" is about releasing and becoming free from obstructing forms of thoughts (the "matter") of/within the mind, allowing the body (and the mind itself) to have/use needed space to heal (at the very root level).
