Wow, I am going through a sesshin here at Upaya. That is where we sit and sit and even eat (Oryoki style) in the Zendo. I never knew sitting meditation could be so painful until these daily 15 hour sits. Starting to get better now though.

Thank Aeve, It reminded me of the book "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" by Master Shunryu Suzuki. He speaks of life being like a train ride. He also mentions something very profound in that passage: "When one is on the train it is best not to look down at the wheels or you will get dizzy. It is best to look out the window and enjoy the ride." I would recommend this book to everyone! ~Namaste'~b

I have seen this be done in real life and it is very cool how they have all these techniques to make different shapes, color effects and depth to their sculptures. It is a place here at the Oregon west coast, where they let people from the street come in and have their custom glass figure made. Very popular in the summer months.
